Corrections incorporated in the second printing (2013)

I thank Kieron Burke, Agisilaos Chantzis, and Jose Maria Escartin for catching several mistakes in the first printing of the book. The corrections have been incorporated in the second printing (download the list here).

Additional corrections in the fourth printing (2016)

I thank Krzysztof Szalewicz and Steven Troch for pointing out several issues. I also learned recently that I had always spelled "Crank-Nicolson" wrongly as "Crank-Nicholson". Phyllis Nicolson (1917-1968) was a British mathematician who worked together with John Crank (1916-2006) on numerical solutions of partial differential equations.
